Day 1: Arrival in Riyadh

Day 2: Exploring Riyadh’s Highlights
Kickstart your morning with a visit to the National Museum. This is a great way to learn about Saudi Arabia’s history, culture, and traditions.
Next, check out the historic Al Masmak Fortress. This 19th-century fort played a major role in the establishment of the Saudi kingdom. It’s a must-see if you enjoy walking through living history.
Later in the day, take a stroll through the traditional Diriyah neighborhood. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site that gives you a glimpse into old Saudi Arabia.
Day 3: Edge of the World
Make an early start and take a day trip to the Edge of the World. This stunning natural wonder gives you epic views over miles of desert. It’s a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.
There’s a real sense of tranquility here, so bring a snack, sit down, and enjoy the vastness of the landscape. Make sure to bring sun protection, plenty of water, and a good camera!
After returning to Riyadh, the rest of the evening is free. Maybe try some local dishes like kabsa or jareesh at a traditional Saudi restaurant.
Day 4: Head to Al Ula
Catch a flight or drive to Al Ula, a small town surrounded by rock formations and ancient sites. Al Ula is famous for its incredible historical and natural beauty.
Spend the rest of your day exploring the town or relaxing at your accommodation. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and prepare for a day full of exploration tomorrow.
Day 5: Madain Salih and Surroundings
Madain Salih is Saudi Arabia’s answer to Petra. It’s one of the country’s most important archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Explore the rock-carved tombs scattered throughout the area. Unlike the crowded ruins of other countries, you’ll often find yourself alone with history here.
In the afternoon, head over to Elephant Rock, a natural formation that looks exactly like an elephant! It’s an amazing spot for sunset photos.
Day 6: More Al Ula Adventures
Take it slow today and enjoy the natural beauty of Al Ula. You can explore the local desert by hiking or taking a guided 4×4 tour.
If you’re into ancient petroglyphs, visit the Jabal Ikmah rock art site. This area is home to thousands of ancient inscriptions that give you insight into the life of early Arabian cultures.
The rest of your evening is for relaxing. Maybe catch a traditional Saudi folk performance if there’s one in town.
Day 7: Fly to Jeddah
Today, you’ll fly to Jeddah. Known as the gateway to Mecca, Jeddah is a lively port city with a mix of traditional and modern elements.
Once you’ve checked in, head to the waterfront Corniche for a relaxing stroll. You can also take in the view of the famous King Fahd’s Fountain, the tallest fountain in the world.
Day 8: Explore Historic Jeddah
This morning, explore the historic Al Balad district. The old buildings here are made from coral and are a photographer’s dream.
Be sure to visit the Nasseef House, an important cultural landmark where you can learn about Jeddah’s history.
In the evening, enjoy some local seafood; Jeddah is famous for its fresh fish dishes. While you’re at it, don’t skip a visit to a traditional Saudi coffee shop for some Arabic coffee and dates.
Day 9: Drive to Taif
Start your day by driving (or taking a tour) to Taif, located in the mountains east of Mecca.
Taif is known for its cooler weather and beautiful nature, including rose gardens and fruit orchards. Visit the local souq to pick up rose water and other local products.
Later, check out Al Shafa and Al Hada, two areas offering scenic views and outdoor activities. It’s the perfect opportunity to hike or just soak in the cool mountain air.
Day 10: Explore Taif
Spend the day exploring Taif’s surroundings. Mountain roads, picnic areas, and small farms give you a break from the desert climate.
If you’re feeling adventurous, the town offers opportunities to ride cable cars over the mountains for some truly breathtaking views. It’s a peaceful day off the beaten path.
Wrap up your time in Taif with a relaxed dinner in the city before heading back to Jeddah.
Day 11: A Beach Day in Jeddah
After several days on the road, it’s a great time to have a beach day! Jeddah’s Red Sea coastline offers beautiful private and public beaches where you can swim, snorkel, and relax.
If you’re into scuba diving, Jeddah is a hidden gem. The Red Sea’s coral reefs are teeming with fish and marine life, making this the perfect destination for underwater adventure.
Day 12: Fly to Abha
Fly to the city of Abha, located in the southern Asir region. Abha is known for its mild weather, green landscapes, and cultural diversity.
Spend your afternoon walking around the city and soaking in the different architectural styles and local markets. The people in this region follow a slower pace of life, and it’s the perfect spot to relax and explore.
Day 13: Day Trip to Rijal Almaa
On your second day in Abha, take a day trip to Rijal Almaa, a historical village about an hour from the city.
This centuries-old village is known for its well-preserved clay and stone houses. Explore the quiet alleys, visit the small museum, and enjoy some tea at one of the local cafes.
In the evening, return to Abha and spend time at one of the local parks or head to the viewpoints for scenic sunset photos.
Day 14: Departure from Riyadh
On your final day, catch a flight back to Riyadh. Depending on when your flight departs, you can either relax in the city or squeeze in one last activity.
