14-Day Itinerary for Exploring United Arab Emirates

Day 1: Arrive in Dubai – Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall

Step off the plane and dive right into Dubai’s bold skyline. Start with a visit to the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. Go to the observation deck on the 124th floor for unbeatable panoramic views of the city.

Afterward, stroll around the Dubai Mall. While it’s known primarily for shopping, the mall also has an aquarium, an ice rink, and plenty of restaurants. The evening is perfect for relaxing, but don’t miss the Dubai Fountain show just outside the mall.

Day 2: Old Dubai – Al Fahidi and Dubai Creek

Take a step back in time with a visit to Old Dubai. Wander through the Al Fahidi Historic District, where the narrow lanes and wind towers showcase what Dubai looked like before it became a global metropolis. It’s a great way to learn about Dubai’s traditional heritage.

Later, head to the Dubai Museum and Dubai Creek. Ride a traditional Abra (a wooden boat) across the creek. Across from the museum, you’ll find the spice and gold souks. They’re great places to browse and maybe buy something unique as a souvenir.

Day 3: Jumeirah Beach and Burj Al Arab

It’s beach day! Head to Jumeirah Beach for some relaxation. This is a great spot to enjoy the sun and take in views of the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel, often featured in postcards of Dubai.

Day 5: Day Trip to Abu Dhabi – Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Get an early start and take a day trip to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. Your first stop should be the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the most impressive mosques in the world. It’s open to non-Muslim visitors too, so make sure to roam around the beautiful white marble structure.

In the afternoon, visit the Louvre Abu Dhabi. It’s an architecturally stunning museum with beautiful displays of art, history, and culture from around the world. Return to Dubai in the evening.

Day 6: Leisure Day in Dubai’s Marina and Palm Jumeirah

Today is about relaxing. Head to Dubai Marina, filled with stylish cafes, restaurants, and bars. You can stroll along the waterfront or even take a boat ride to appreciate the modern skyline from the water.

Later, visit the man-made island Palm Jumeirah. Treat yourself to a meal or simply walk along the beaches for some downtime. If you’re in the mood for something more exhilarating, visit the Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis, The Palm.

Day 7: Sharjah – Culture and Heritage

On day 7, take a short trip to Sharjah, only 30 minutes from Dubai. Known as the cultural capital of the UAE, Sharjah offers a slower pace of life.

Visit the Sharjah Art Museum, the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, and the Al Noor Mosque. The latter has guided tours to introduce visitors to Islamic culture. Spend the evening exploring the Al Qasba waterfront, where you’ll find lovely places to eat.

Day 8: Fujairah’s Beaches and Mountains

Leave the cities behind and drive about 90 minutes to Fujairah. The emirate offers a stark contrast with its beaches and mountainous backdrop. Your first stop can be Snoopy Island, where you can snorkel and possibly spot turtles.

Later, visit Al-Bidyah Mosque, the oldest mosque in the UAE. The remote, scenic location offers a sense of peace and tranquility. Stick around for the sunset and head back to your hotel to relax.

Day 9: Ras Al Khaimah – Jebel Jais and Zipline

Adventure lovers, head to Ras Al Khaimah today. Drive up Jebel Jais, the highest mountain in the UAE. The views are stunning and it’s a lot cooler up there, making for a perfect escape from the city heat.

If you’re feeling daring, you can try the world’s longest zipline that runs down the mountain (2.83 kilometers long!). If not, just enjoy a picnic, relax with the views, and explore some hiking trails.

Day 10: Al Ain – Oasis City

Spend today exploring Al Ain, one of the UAE’s greenest cities. Start at the Al Ain Oasis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and take a relaxing walk among the date palms.

Then, check out the Al Ain Palace Museum and the Al Ain Zoo. For breathtaking views, you can also ascend Jebel Hafeet, a mountain that offers panoramic scenery of Al Ain and Oman. It’s a peaceful change of pace from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Day 11: Relax Day in Abu Dhabi – Corniche Beach

You’ve been on the go, so today’s all about recharging. Head to Corniche Beach in Abu Dhabi. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy the beach without crowds.

You can also take a stroll along the waterfront or cycle along the promenade. In the evening, head to one of the many seafood restaurants nearby for dinner.

Day 12: Yas Island – Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld

For some entertainment, head to Yas Island. If you’re into cars, Ferrari World is a must. It’s home to the world’s fastest roller coaster, Formula Rossa. Alternatively, Yas Waterworld is a great spot to cool off and enjoy a few water slides.

In the evening, why not take a trip to the nearby Yas Marina Circuit? It’s where the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix takes place, and you can even take a tour of the track.

Day 13: Road Trip to Hatta Mountain Town

Escape from the skyscrapers! Hatta is a charming mountain town about 90 minutes from Dubai. You can explore the Hatta Heritage Village to get a glimpse of traditional Emirati life or hike in the surrounding Hajar Mountains.

Make sure you try kayaking at Hatta Dam. The turquoise waters are peaceful and surrounded by impressive mountains—perfect for unwinding. After spending the day in nature, return to Dubai for the night.

Day 14: Last Day in Dubai – Souvenir Shopping

For your final day, take it easy. If there’s any shopping left to do, now’s the time to visit the souks to pick up some traditional items. You can also revisit any of your favorite spots, like the Dubai Mall or Jumeirah Beach for a final dip in the ocean.

Spend the evening relaxed and ready for your departure the next morning, with memories of an amazing two weeks in the UAE.
