Day 1: Arrive in Hamilton
Welcome to Bermuda! Start your trip by heading straight to Hamilton, the island’s capital. It’s vibrant, yet laid-back, giving you the perfect introduction to Bermuda. Drop your bags at your hotel and get acquainted with the town.
Visit Hamilton’s main street, Front Street, which is lined with colorful buildings and shops. It’s ideal for a casual stroll. Grab a bite at a local restaurant like Hog Penny for some good pub fare.
In the afternoon, visit the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute. It’s a small museum, but it gives you an excellent glimpse into Bermuda’s maritime history and the underwater world.
Finish your day at the Royal Palms Hotel or Wanderlust Circle Bistro, where you can relax and enjoy dinner. Today was easygoing, keeping your first day unhurried.
Day 2: Explore the Beaches
Nothing says “Bermuda” quite like its world-famous beaches. Today is all about the sand and sun. Start with Horseshoe Bay Beach; it’s a must-see with its pink sand and calm waters. It can get crowded, but you’ll understand why once you arrive.
If you’re up for exploring more beaches, head to Elbow Beach, which is quieter and equally beautiful. You can rent some snorkeling gear on-site, but otherwise, just enjoy the views.
Pack a picnic or grab some snacks from a nearby shop so you can spend the whole day by the water. Take it easy. Sunset on the beach is not to be missed.
Day 3: Discover St. George’s
Today, venture over to the east side of Bermuda to discover the historic town of St. George’s. This UNESCO World Heritage site is like stepping back in time. Stroll through the narrow streets and make your way to King’s Square. It’s not too busy, so you’ll have time to enjoy yourself.
Visit St. Peter’s Church, one of the oldest Anglican churches in the Western Hemisphere. From here, walk to Fort St. Catherine for stunning views. This fort is the largest on the island and offers insights into Bermuda’s military history. The views across the horizon are spectacular.
For a quirky experience, don’t miss the Unfinished Church. It’s a roofless, half-built wonder. Afterward, you can grab something fresh at Wahoo’s Waterside Bistro and enjoy being by the water.
Day 4: Crystal Caves and Aquarium
Spend your morning exploring Bermuda’s stunning Crystal and Fantasy Caves. These underground wonders are magnificent. The stalactites hang from above while crystal-clear water sparkles beneath you. Both caves are close together, so you’ll cover a lot in half a day.
Once you’re done, carve out time to visit the Bermuda Aquarium. It’s educational, compact, and perfect for a relaxed afternoon. Escape the heat while checking out marine life and local exhibits about Bermuda’s ecosystems.
For dinner, head to The Swizzle Inn, a cozy spot famous for its rum swizzle cocktails and great atmosphere. If you feel like staying out longer, it’s a fun place to mingle with locals and travelers.
Day 5: Royal Naval Dockyard and Snorkel Park
Today, it’s time to head to the west end of the island: the Royal Naval Dockyard. This area blends history, culture, and fun activities. Spend your morning visiting the National Museum of Bermuda, located within the Dockyard. It’s packed with history, maritime exhibits, and even cannons.
Afterward, it’s time for some fun. Head to Snorkel Park Beach, a lively beach spot near the Dockyard where you can rent snorkeling gear, kayaks, or even jetskis. If you prefer something more relaxed, grab a drink and enjoy the live music (often played in the afternoon).
For dinner, there are a few choices in the Dockyard area, such as Bonefish Bar & Grill or Frog and Onion Pub. They’re both great for casual dining and post-snorkeling relaxation.
Day 6: Nature and Hiking on the Railway Trail
Bermuda’s not just about pristine beaches – it’s also a hiker’s paradise. Start your day on the Bermuda Railway Trail, which stretches over 18 miles. You don’t need to do it all; just pick a section that works for your pace. The stretches between Bailey’s Bay and Coney Island offer serene views and lush greenery.
Along the trail, stop at the Coney Island Nature Reserve. It’s a bit of an off-the-beaten-path spot, allowing you to enjoy nature without the crowds. Take your time.
Once you’re done, head toward Flatts Village and grab lunch at the Village Pantry, where you’ll find good food and a relaxed vibe.
Day 7: Final Relaxation and Departure
For your last day, keep things simple. You’ve done a lot, and it’s time for some easy moments. Head back to a favorite beach from earlier in the week, whether it’s Horseshoe Bay or another spot that spoke to you.
If you’ve got some spare time before your flight, explore more of Hamilton. Stop by the Bermuda National Gallery if you’re interested in local artwork. It’s not large, but it’s a peaceful place to escape the midday sun.
When you’re ready to leave, give yourself plenty of time to head to L.F. Wade International Airport. Bermuda is small, but the friendly, laid-back nature of the island might tempt you to stay even longer.
