Day 1: Arrive in Nuuk
Welcome to Greenland! Start your trip by flying into Nuuk, the capital. Once you land, take some time to settle in. There’s no need to rush on your first day.
If you feel up for it, take a stroll around the town. You can visit the iconic Katuaq Cultural Center or check out the Greenland National Museum. This will give you a quick intro to the country’s history and culture.
Day 2: Explore Nuuk
Today, dive deeper into Nuuk. It’s a small city, so one day is enough to cover a lot.
Visit the Old Colonial Harbor. You’ll find colorful houses and boats, and it’s a great place to take photos. From there, you can head to the Nuuk Art Museum for some local art.
If you’re into hiking, you can also tackle Lille Malene, a nearby mountain trail. It’s perfect for a quick outdoor adventure and offers great views over the city.
Day 3: Fly to Ilulissat
This morning, fly to Ilulissat. It’s the gateway to one of Greenland’s most famous sights: the Ilulissat Icefjord.

Once you arrive, settle into your accommodation. In the evening, take a walk around town. The sunset here can be incredible, reflecting off the icebergs drifting along the coast.
Day 4: Icefjord Boat Tour
Time to see the Icefjord up close! Book a boat tour and sail among the massive icebergs. It’s a surreal experience and one of the main reasons people visit Greenland.
If you have time in the afternoon, consider a small hike to Sermermiut. It’s an old Inuit settlement with amazing views of the fjord.
Day 5: Explore Ilulissat on Foot
After yesterday’s boat tour, relax today and explore Ilulissat on foot. Head into the town to visit shops, local cafes, and soak up the small-town vibe.
If you’re interested in learning more about Greenlandic culture, visit the Knud Rasmussen Museum. It’s dedicated to one of Greenland’s most famous explorers.
Day 6: Hike to the Icefjord Viewpoints
Today, go for a longer hike. There are marked trails leading to three different viewpoints of the Ilulissat Icefjord.
The Yellow Trail is the easiest, but if you’re up for a challenge, try the Blue or Red Trails. All offer stunning views of the icebergs drifting along the fjord.

Day 7: Down Day in Ilulissat
Take a break today! After several days of exploring, use this day to relax.
You can wander around town again, visit a few spots you might have missed, or just sit by the water and enjoy being in Greenland. Sometimes, it’s good to have a slower day on a busy trip.
Day 8: Fly to Qaqortoq
Today, catch a flight to Qaqortoq. This town is in South Greenland and has a totally different vibe from Ilulissat.
When you arrive, take some time to walk around and get to know the place. Be sure to check out the many stone carvings scattered throughout the town. These sculptures are part of the “Stone and Man” project, which highlights Greenland’s artistic side.

Day 9: Hot Springs at Uunartoq
One of the best day trips from Qaqortoq is to the hot springs at Uunartoq Island.
There are natural geothermal pools where you can relax while enjoying views of mountains and icebergs. It’s a unique way to experience Greenland’s nature.
Day 10: Explore Qaqortoq
Spend today exploring Qaqortoq itself. You can visit the Qaqortoq Museum to learn more about Greenlandic history and culture.

After that, walk around town. Grab some lunch at a local restaurant and just enjoy the town’s peaceful atmosphere.
Day 11: Narsaq Day Trip
Take a boat trip to Narsaq, another small town nearby. Narsaq is known for its beautiful backdrops of mountains and glaciers.
You can spend the day walking around, visiting local markets, and seeing how people live in these remote Greenlandic towns.
Day 12: Journey to Igaliku
Take a boat or hike over to Igaliku, a small settlement with a peaceful atmosphere.
This tiny village is famous for its stunning views and ancient Norse ruins. Spend the day hiking in the area and learning about the history of Norse settlers in Greenland.
Day 13: Return to Qaqortoq
It’s time to head back to Qaqortoq. Take it easy today. Spend the afternoon walking around town, or maybe just relax at your accommodation.
If you’re in the mood for some more sightseeing, check out any spots you missed earlier in the trip.
