Match days to opening hoursThe Rand Nature Centre is open weekdays and Lucayan National Park weekends, so run day 1 and day 2 in that order, such as Friday and Saturday.
Rent a car or tourGold Rock Beach is about 25 miles from Freeport and is reached by tour bus or rental car. Traffic drives on the left.
Respect the cavesSwimming in the Lucayan caves is prohibited, and diving needs a special permit.
Pack for the beachGold Rock Beach has picnic tables and BBQ pits but few amenities, so bring water and snacks.
Carry small cashThe Bahamian dollar equals the US dollar. Bring small notes for stands, straw goods and conch shacks.
