Entry rule for your passport
Tourist visa required, unless you hold permanent residence or a valid multiple-entry visa for the US, Schengen area, Canada or UK. Apply at the Dominican Embassy in New Delhi; your passport needs 6 months of validity.

Who this covers: Ordinary Indian passports for tourist visits to the Dominican Republic, with the application made at the Dominican Embassy in New Delhi. Official and diplomatic passports, business visas, study and residence need separate checks.
Check your circumstances
Read these conditions alongside the entry rule. Where official guidance does not state a condition, that is not confirmation that no condition applies.
- Passport type Confirmed for this scope
- The MIREX lookup, set to an ordinary passport, says Indian nationals need a tourist visa (simple or multiple). Official and diplomatic passports are separate categories there and are not covered by this guide.

- Trip purpose Confirmed for this scope
- The tourist visa is for leisure visits. Business, student and residence visas have their own requirements, so they are outside this guide.

- Stay and visa validity Conditions to check
- MIREX lists the tourist visa as valid 60 days with one entry (simple) or two entries (multiple). The Ministry of Tourism says stays beyond 30 days cost a fee on departure, so confirm your allowed stay with the embassy.

Who needs the visa
Dominican law requires a visa for foreigners, except for nationals of countries that have a visa waiver agreement with the Dominican Republic. MIREX's lookup for an ordinary Indian passport returns "requires a visa" for the tourist category.
There is one shortcut. Foreigners with permanent residence, or a valid multiple-entry visa, for the United States, the EU (Schengen), Canada or Great Britain can visit as tourists with a valid passport and a tourist card, as Decree 691-07 sets out. The Ministry of Tourism describes this as a valid visa from one of those places.

Where and how to apply
Apply in person or by email at the nearest embassy or consulate to where you live. For India that is the Embassy of the Dominican Republic at B1/20 Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, which also serves Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Maldives and Nepal. Its published contact is contact@dominicanembassy.in.
MIREX gives a response time of 10 to 20 working days, so apply well before you book non-refundable travel.

Documents
The tourist visa checklist asks for the visa application form, a 2 x 2 inch photo on a white background, your original passport valid at least 6 months, a copy of a residence card if you hold one, and parental authorization when a minor applies without a parent. Add birth and marriage certificates if they apply, copies of other visas you hold or held, and proof of funds such as an employment letter and a bank certificate with three months of movements.
The embassy can ask for more, and the consular fee is listed on MIREX's consular fee table, which this guide does not quote.

On arrival and when you fly
Tourists need a passport valid for 6 months, an entry and return ticket, an address in the country and proof that they can pay for their stay. Airlines may not board foreign passengers without a round-trip ticket. Complete the free E-Ticket entry and exit form before you reach the airline counter, and keep the QR code.
The airfare normally includes the tourist card for air arrivals, as Canada's travel advice explains, and the Ministry of Tourism says the US$20 departure tax is already in the ticket. Staying beyond 30 days costs a fee when you leave.
