Entry rule for your passport
Guatemala lists India in category B, "Visa Consular", so you need a visa before you travel. Ask the nearest Guatemalan embassy or consulate how to apply.
Official sources: Guatemalan Institute of Migration (IGM).
Who this covers: Ordinary Indian passports for short tourist visits to Guatemala. The consular application steps, fees and visa validity for India are not published on the IGM pages that could be read, so this guide covers the country classification and the border checks only. Work, study and residence need separate checks.

What the official list says
The Guatemalan Institute of Migration (IGM) sorts countries into three categories. Category A, "Exento de visa", covers visa-free travelers such as US, British, Canadian, Australian and EU passport holders. Category B, "Visa Consular", lists India. Category C, "Visa Consultada", lists countries such as China and Vietnam.
The list gives the category only. It does not state a fee, a processing time or how long a category B visa lets you stay.

Where the published application pages stop
IGM publishes a tourist or visitor visa application page with forms and a fee, but it is written for category C countries, with an appointment and a Guatemalan guarantor. India is not in category C, so do not assume those steps apply to you.
For category B, the list names the type of visa, a consular visa, but no IGM page read explains the steps. Contact the nearest Guatemalan embassy or consulate for the current procedure before you book flights.

Checks at the border
Entering Guatemala, you present a valid travel document in good condition and the visa that your country category requires. An officer interviews you about the purpose of your trip. Carry a return or onward ticket and a hotel booking or the name of a contact in the country, and be ready to show you can pay for your stay if the officer asks.
IGM also says the authorities can add requirements for security reasons, and that travelers with entry restrictions are refused.
