Overview
India rewards a trip built around one region. This first route follows the Golden Triangle: Delhi for layered neighborhoods and garden tombs, Agra for Mughal monuments, and Jaipur for palace courtyards and hilltop architecture. It is a manageable introduction, not an attempt to cover the country in a week.
The seven-day plan starts after a night in Delhi and ends at Jaipur airport, with two protected road-transfer mornings. Separate city plans add a third Delhi day or fit travelers already visiting Agra or Jaipur. Check monument closures before choosing hotel dates, and book your onward journey from Jaipur before committing to the open-jaw route.
When to go
These month ratings describe Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, not every part of India. November to March generally suits outdoor sightseeing; winter haze and fog can affect views and journeys. Check air quality as well as temperature before long outdoor days.

Getting around
- Between the three cities: The country plan uses prearranged cars, allowing about 4.5 hours for each main road transfer. Agra district guidance gives Delhi to Agra 4 to 5 hours and Jaipur to Agra about 4 hours; traffic can add time.
- Trains as an alternative: Agra Cantt, New Delhi and Jaipur Junction are useful rail hubs, but the itinerary does not quote a train timetable. If you choose rail, reserve actual services first and rebuild the sightseeing around their arrival times.
- Within each city: Walk compact old-city areas, then use a booked car or taxi for longer legs. Delhi Metro can replace some car journeys, but allow time for station access and security checks.
- Departing Jaipur: Finish at Jaipur airport on a booked onward route. If a separate ticket requires a connection elsewhere in India, add a buffer night instead of treating a same-day transfer as guaranteed.
