Apply for the e-VOA or a visa on arrival
Submit your All Indonesia arrival card first, then apply for the e-VOA online at least 48 hours before you travel, through the immigration e-Visa website or the All Indonesia website. If you miss that window, you can still get a regular visa on arrival at certain entry points; some regional checkpoints accept cash only.

Passport and documents
Use an ordinary passport with at least 6 months of validity from the date you enter. Smartraveller also recommends 6 months of validity from the date you leave, to avoid problems on departure. Carry a return flight to Australia or an onward booking to another country.
Indonesia is strict about damaged passports: tears, folds or water damage have led to refused entry.

Arrival card, Bali levy and extensions
Complete the free All Indonesia arrival card during the 72 hours before arrival, before flight check-in, and save its QR code. Bali also charges foreign tourists a separate levy unless exempt; check Love Bali before paying online or at designated arrival counters.
You can extend the 30-day tourist stay once for another 30 days. Start online, then attend the immigration office for a photo and interview. Apply well before your permission to stay expires and follow the appointment instructions.
