Overview
Singapore is a city-state, so a first trip stays in one hotel for 3 to 5 days. Spend a day on Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay, one in Chinatown, Kampong Gelam and Little India, and one on Sentosa and in the Botanic Gardens; the MRT, buses and taxis link them all.
It is warm all year, about 25 to 33 C. November to January is the wettest stretch and February the driest month, while smoke haze from regional fires is most common from June to September.
When to go
From late November to early January, Gardens by the Bay adds extra shows of Garden Rhapsody, its free Supertree light show; during ticketed events, watch from the free viewpoints instead.

Getting around
- MRT and buses: Trains and buses reach most sights; tap a contactless bank card or phone at the gates, or buy a Singapore Tourist Pass for unlimited rides.
- Buses at night: Buses run from about 5:30 AM until around 12:30 AM, so plan a taxi for very late returns.
- Taxis and ride-hailing: Taxis are metered and can be flagged or booked, and ComfortDelGro, Grab, Gojek, Ryde and TADA run ride-hailing apps.
- To Sentosa: Walk in for free along the Sentosa Boardwalk from VivoCity at HarbourFront, or ride the Sentosa Express or the cable car.
