Overview
Most first trips pair Dubai with Abu Dhabi. Spend two or three days in Dubai between the old Creek souks, Burj Khalifa and the beaches, then take the Etihad Rail train from Dubai Station to Abu Dhabi Station, about an hour, for the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Qasr Al Watan and the Louvre on Saadiyat Island.
The cooler months from November to March suit sightseeing on foot. From June to September temperatures can pass 50C, with sand and dust storms, so plan outdoor sights early or late. Intense storms between December and May can bring flash floods.
When to go
Ramadan is expected to begin around 7 Feb 2027. During the month, avoid eating, drinking or smoking in public between sunrise and sunset, and expect opening hours to change at some sights.

- Dubai Metro: The Red Line serves stops such as Max for the Dubai Frame and BurJuman for Al Seef, and the Green Line runs to Al Ras near the Gold Souk.
