Entry rule for your passport
Tourist visa required unless you hold a qualifying valid US visa or Green Card; that exemption permits up to 90 days. Check the exact US visa categories in the guide.

Who this covers: Ordinary Indian passport holders visiting Argentina for tourism. The consular application discussion follows the Argentine Embassy in India. Work, study, residence and official travel documents need separate advice.
Check your circumstances
Read these conditions alongside the entry rule. Where official guidance does not state a condition, that is not confirmation that no condition applies.

- Age Not stated in the cited guidance
- The reviewed exemption notice does not establish a separate age-based eligibility route. Ask the consulate about child-specific documents rather than assuming an adult application covers a child.

Check the exact exemption
Read the US visa category printed on your document. A qualifying valid visa or Green Card removes the need for an Argentine consular tourist visa or AVE for this route. The embassy says prior use of a US B2 visa is not required. It also warns that a minimum remaining validity of 90 days from entry may be required, so resolve a document close to expiry with the consulate before booking. Border admission remains subject to checks.

If you need a consular visa
Use the embassy's current checklist and appointment instructions. For that consular application in New Delhi, the checklist requires a passport valid for six months from entry with two blank pages; this does not establish the passport rule for the separate US-document exemption. The process includes document review followed by an in-person interview. Prepare identity, itinerary, accommodation and financial evidence, and check the stated translation requirements. Keep flight reservations flexible while your application is pending; a reservation is not an instruction to buy a nonrefundable ticket.

Carry health insurance
Argentina's 2025 immigration changes introduced a declaration about travel purpose and health insurance. The Argentine Embassy in Sweden says implementing rules for that declaration have not yet been issued and it is not currently being requested. That operational statement should not be confused with an exemption from having appropriate cover.
Carry medical or travel insurance for the whole visit and check the latest official entry procedure before departure. The embassy also explains that non-emergency public hospital treatment for foreign visitors may require insurance or payment in advance; emergency care and permanent residents are treated differently.

Keep the trip within its scope
Check each traveler separately, including children and companions whose passports or US documents differ. Keep the evidence supporting your own route accessible during travel. This article covers entering Argentina for a holiday; permission to transit another country on the way is a separate question. If your purpose changes, ask the Argentine consulate which permission you need.
