Entry rule for your passport
No visa for tourist or transit stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Your passport must be valid for at least 150 days from the date you arrive.

Who this covers: Ordinary Australian passports for tourist visits. Official passports, temporary or emergency documents, residence and non-tourist purposes need their own checks.
Check your circumstances
Read these conditions alongside the entry rule. Where official guidance does not state a condition, that is not confirmation that no condition applies.

- Stay and visa validity Confirmed for this scope
- Ordinary Australian tourists can stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Short exits do not restart the allowance.

Use the current ordinary-passport rule
The Turkish Foreign Ministry and Smartraveller both confirm the short tourist exemption for ordinary Australian passports. An old eVisa checklist or nationality list is not a reason to buy a tourist visa when this exemption applies. Official Australian passports and temporary or emergency documents need separate checks.

Check passport dates and earlier visits
Turkey’s general passport rule requires 60 days beyond the authorized stay. For a 90-day permission, that means at least 150 days from arrival; the Foreign Ministry recommends six months.
Add earlier Turkey visits when checking the rolling stay limit. The Foreign Ministry says a second passport does not provide a second allowance.

Prepare for family and coastal travel
If traveling with a child under 18, ask the Turkish mission whether you need evidence of parenthood or guardianship.
Check entry and exit stamps when traveling by sea or land, even on a short Greek-island trip. A missing stamp can cause trouble at the next border. If your trip needs a sticker visa, the online form is a preliminary step; confirm the later document, appointment and interview procedure with the responsible mission.
